This research activity is funded by Aviation Science Foundation Programs (No.20080652009).The modern engine control system is composed of comprehensive controller, actuators andsensor etc. Among them, the actuators(fuel supply regulator actuators) what control the flow is themost important. Their performance directly affect the engine performance. Modern engine fuelregulator is mainly drived by hydraulic system. But the hydraulic governing institution is oftencomplex, expensive and inefficient. So it is necessary to design a new type of power transmissiondevice. The ultrasonic motor is a new type of micromotor that makes use of the converse piezoelectriceffect of piezoelectric ceramic and ultrasonic vibration. It will be very suitable as the power device offuel regulator. It will replace the complex hydraulic institutions and get a good control effect throughthe ultrasonic motor. This paper mainly content summed up as follows:Summarize the structure of ultrasonic motor characteristics, classification and application ofboth at home and abroad. Expounds the development of fuel regulator;Put forward the new structure model of fuel regulator based on TRUM-60type ultrasonicmotor.Make kinematics and dynamic simulation calculation about the mechanism usingADAMS software and confirm the design plan.Considering the specific environment of fuel regulator where ultrasonic motor works, putforward the improvement plan of ultrasonic motor about high temperature and sealing,detailed introduce the performance improvement method and test it by finite elementsimulation.Put forward a new design scheme of digital drive. Introduced the circuit principle andcontrol process of stepping driving. Realize the communication with upper machine throughthe UART module, and write the PC control interface by LabVIEW to realize theinstructions and data transfer.Make vibration and laser interference experiment about the mechanism drived by ultrasonicmotor. The results show that the displacement resolution of the linear driving mechanism issix nanometer.
