Analysis On Planning And Designing Of The Olympic Venues With A Regional View

On the background of globalization, the architectural style has more and moreunity with the influence of modernism. Besides, the space and pattern of city is be-coming more and more similar. What’s more, regional culture is weakening and dis-appearing rapidly. All of these contributed to make the architects begin to suspect andmodify the concept of modern architecture, explore how to combine the traditionalculture with modern civilization, how to create building with geographical and cul-tural characteristics. Take the Olympic venues for an example, they generated a pro-found influence on environment and space of city. They were built as places, whichare of large scales both in the venue planning and construction monomer design, tohold a worldwide sport meeting. What should become the common concern of archi-tects is how to coordinate the large public spaces with the specific urban human envi-ronment and how to manifest the characteristics of the original environment perfectly.Although the planning and designing of the Olympic venues lack of overall con-sideration, necessary theoretical basis and design guidance, this essay firstly reviewssome relevant regional theories, point out the generalized regional trend of modernarchitecture, and the same time, analysis philosophy ideas and creative methods ofgeneralized regional architecture; secondly, I summarize those factors which affectregional Olympic venues planning and designing via analyzing the development ofthe ancient Olympic Stadium and reviewing the development of the modern Olympicvenues, then points out defects on panning and designing of the Olympic venues;Thirdly, on the basis of regional theory research, this article propose several strategieson microcosmic, meso and macro three perspectives to make up the deficiencies onplanning and designing on regional Olympic venues respectively, forming a set ofrelatively complete design system about regional Olympic venues planning. Finally,using multi-level research methods mentioned above, this essay give a summary onthe regional planning and designing oft Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center, and furtherelaborated methodology while summarizing planning and designing method of re-gional Olympic venues near the waterfront.
