Shaoxing is the famous opera of the township, the ancient stage is the shaoxingopera performance space, and also is the carrier of shaoxing opera culture，it is thecomplement of Shaoxing opera culture, along with the Shaoxing opera and culturalexperience for hundreds of years of ups and downs. In the old time, Shaoxing ancientstage both gossip entertainment space, but also people’s mental entertainment venues.Customs of the system by restraint and to their respect, the people live in shaoxing tobuild the ancient stage often in the best efforts. The ancient stage whether in locationlayout, architectural form or in space form, decorative art has a strong geographicfeatures. It is also the most traditional audience building in shaoxing. But with thedecline of the drama culture, ancient stage gradually left out, at the same time, theancient stage their own wooden by the restriction and urbanization fast development,the destruction of the ancient stages increasingly serious, their protection work isimminent, but the measures of the academic building for Shaoxing ancient stageregional research and conservation has not taken. In this paper the stage in shaoxing asresearch object, by the shaoxing opera cultural history for clues, combined with theexisting ancient stage as an example, the basis of the ancient stage of shaoxing culturalconnotation, spatial form, construction technology, decorative arts, and protection areanalyzed and studied, and from the following four aspects were discussed.The first level is to overall discussess the forming background of shaoxing ancientstage, namely chapter2. Through the summary of shaoxing area to discuss the stage ofthe formation of the shaoxing cultural background, and from the kinds of shaoxingopera, history of shaoxing opera culture is discussed, and at the same time with China’sancient stage the current research status and the present situation of the study shaoxingstages, the forming background of shaoxing sites have a more systematic outline.The second level of shaoxing’s ancient stage on the distributions of comprehensivesummary, and divide the ancient stage into flow stage, temple stage, ancestral hall stage,and civic center stage five categories to carry on the system the research, that is, chapter3.The third level on the Shaoxing ancient stage of construction, namely,4,5twochapters. From the stage of the plane form, decorate means, plane size, building towardthese aspects of ancient stage plane shape is discussed, and at the same time, take the existing ancient stage as an example to research the ancient stage of basement, bridgesystem, analyzed the structure of roof and draw into pictures. To the stage of buildingspace research mainly from the elements, layout forms, geometric shape three aspectsare analyzed. Finally the ancient stage is divided into three parts, combined with theancient stage examples of the photograph record and decorative arts.The fourth level of protection to the ancient stage, namely in chapter6. Summaryof the conservation status of the ancient stage, and to the stage of protection put forwardthe four basic principles and some innovation strategy, which can be correct, completeprotection of the ancient stage.
