| The ancient water conservancy projects are outcomes of mankind remoulding and making use of nature naturally. They reflected the intelligence and the friendly attitude to natural of the ancients. Water conservancy projects are not only important water conservancy facilities, but also important culture carriers in modern society. And they also have enormous effects on landscape and ecosystem. Shaoxing which was the zone center since ancient times is an important city of Ningbo-Shaoxing Plain. There are still some ancient water conservancy projects remain here. The thesis introduces the history of ancient water conservancy projects in Shaoxing City and the functions and problems of the projects’remnants in modern city. We discuss that how can ancient water conservancy projects survive in the rapidly developing period, when the projects have already lost there original water effects or the effects were weakened. We try to find a new way for the dying projects to make new contributions for human in Ningbo-Shaoxing plain in water conservation, heritage protection, ecology and recreation ways so that the projects can survive for ever. It is hoped that these discussions can evoke reflection on living state of historical remains and bring some inspirations for the development of water landscape. |
