The feeder terminal unit is the main device of Distribution feeder automation systems. Itis mainly used to accomplish real-time monitoring of the switch on the column, monitor theoperation of the distribution system, provide a variety of parameters and rapidly implementthe orders issued by the master, and complete telemetry, remote, remote control, faultdetection. The real-time of data is essential and the amount of data processing is very large.Without increasing the peripheral circuits and dedicated large-capacity cache chip, UsingCPLD realization of telemetry can greatly enhance the information transfer rate and improvethe information transmission performance. It provides a viable solution to solve the problemof real-time monitoring and fault detection. Therefore, as one of the key technologies,telemetry system based on the CPLD has been used in the distribution feeder automationsystems to meet the needs of real-time monitoring.This thesis investigates several issues related to this hot topic, the main research resultsare as follows:The circuits in the telemetry system are analyzed. It includes sampling control circuit,the frequency measurement circuit, divider circuit and the network interface circuit. Then, thisthesis gives hardware circuit design and software design, accomplishes the simulation test ofthe four circuits, and analyzes Systematic errors.The thesis designs the hardware circuit design of telemetry system based on DSP andCPLD hardware platform. It introduces hardware circuit design of the overall system, givesthe hardware circuit block diagram of the telemetry system, and designs internal logic moduleof every circuit. It also puts forward a program which uses CPLD to complete telemetry.It describes the software design process of telemetry system based on Quartus IIdevelopment environment. It discusses the top-down design approach, introduces the designprocess that uses Verilog HDL hardware description language to achieve circuits of thetelemetry system, and writes procedures to implement each circuit. In this paper, it also includes simulation, debugging and testing of the various circuits.Through setting up test platform set up, the circuit simulation results are analyzed. Test resultsshow that telemetry system based on CPLD have a good real-time monitoring features andmeet application requirements of the distribution feeder automation system.
