The inertial feeder with horizontal vibration is a kind of inertial vibrating machinewhich could realize level vibrates to feed material, and is widely used in buildingmaterials, chemical, coal and other industries. In the iron and steel enterprise, theinertial feeder with horizontal vibration was used to conveying material for electric arcfurnace. This topic is according to the new process and proposes which was used afterreforming electric arc furnace in steelmaking enterprise. For the existing electric arcfurnace, the feeding must open the cover of electric arc furnace firstly; after addingsteel material the arc furnace cover was closed together. The way of this incomingmaterial follows a large of dust; and the workers’ work environment is poor. Accordingto these shortcomings, the company of italy dexing conceives to built a hole on the sideof electric arc furnace. By using the inertial vibrating feeder, the steel materials will besent into the charging directly, and a new type of electric arc furnace smeltingsystem-Consteel system is designed. This way could omitted electric arc furnace’sopening time of action, save the manpower, improve the working environment; At thesame time, the high temperature flue gas which was produced by the electric arcfurnace goes into the feeder’s closed material groove, and preheats steel material.This article mainly as follows:1.Analyzing the inertial feeder with horizontal vibration’s working principle,establishing the mechanical model of feeder’s material trough and material, andobtaining the kinematics equations of feeder’s material trough;2.Analyzing the relative movement between material and material trough,obtaining three motion states’ initial conditions and termination conditions between material and material trough (positive movement, reverse movement, relative static),and analyzing the kinematics equations of material;3.By using the method of calculus numerical calculation, redacting MATLABprograms of material trough and material’s motion states, setting the relevantparameters, and getting the movement simulation curve of materials trough andmaterial;4. According to the definition of average speed, calculating the average speed ofmaterial, analyzing the influential factors of material movement, you will get theaverage speed curve of materials with changing a parameter;5.Exploring the optimization principle of genetic algorithm, understandingoptimization toolbox, GADS toolbox of genetic algorithm in the MATLAB thorough,and be familiar with writing related MATLAB program;6.Confirming the feeder’s design variables, constraint conditions, with theobjective function which is about an maximizing average speed of material, redactingthe MATLAB program of genetic algorithm, and getting more optimal designparameters by using GADS to optimize the feeder;7.Contrasting the motion simulation curve of material and material troughbetween before the optimization and after the optimization, analyzing that andobtaining the conclusion.
