As an integral part of human civilization, industrial heritage, as well as itsconservation, is being attached increasing importance to all over the world. In China, with the development of modern society, people’s consciousness and ability to conserveindustrial heritage has been improved gradually. However, since the90s of the20thcentury, the rapid developing economic speed leads to the expansion of urban renewaland redevelopment, which is creating harm to the conservation of the industrial heritage. As a result, the increasing industrial sites have been destroyed due to ill managementand ignorance, which runs contrary to the general trend to conserve industrial heritage. The essential cause to create this trend is that we did not have a scientific valueassessing system. Accordingly, we cannot precisely assess the value of heritage, letalone transcending their unique value.Based on this background, this dissertation starts from the industrial heritages inSanxian Construction which is pretty typical of “Chinese Characteristic”, summarizesand analyzes them during this period, whereby indicating that the Shipping Industryalong Yangzi River in Chongqing is a potential excellent subject of researching onIndustrial Heritage Corridor from geographic position, heritage accounts and spacedistribution. Accordingly, this dissertation analyzes the value assessing system tocorrespond with different levels---heritage buildings themselves, heritage units, heritageregions, and coastal cities, respectively. Due to the fact, this dissertation goes about onthe general arrangement of the four levels, which is the main resources of this corridor,of course plusing some other auxiliary resources---natural, historic, and leisure ones, toplan the general pattern of it. Lastly, this dissertation compares four different cases fromUSA, UK and Japan with it, and offers the ideas of “Integral Protection” which isfeatured to the Shipping Industry Heritage Corridor of Sanxian Construction alongYangzi River in Chongqing, in order to maximize the industrial heritage value andrelable of Sanxian Construction. The creative point of this dissertation lies in combining the special Yangzi River’sterrain, providing the approach of building industrial heritage corridor, in order toconserve generally the Shipping Industry along Yangzi River in Chongqing.
