The automated mechanical transmission (AMT) can replace the manualtransmission by canceling the clutch pedal and making the clutch joint automatically.Automatic mechanical transmission (AMT) is not only like the hydraulic automatictransmission can be handled easily strengths, but also retains many advantages of theoriginal manual transmission, for example, high efficiency, low cost, simple structure,and good production of inheritance and so on. It has been become the main direction oftransmission development.In the key technology of AMT, starting control is one of the difficulties in them, theperformance of start can directly affect the AMT system. In this paper, the startingcontrol with constant engine speed was adopted, analysis and solve the problemsencountered in the starting process, it focuses on several aspects of analysis andresearch as follows:①Firstly, it introduced the basic principle and classification method of automaticclutch, summarized the development history and research status of automatictransmission control system, and analyzed the key technologies of AMT.②Analyzed the structures and working principle of dry diaphragm spring clutch,and gave the calculation method of torque transferred by the diaphragm spring, thejerking and the work of slipping. It provides theory basis for the starting control withkeeping the engine speed constant.③This paper obtained the engine speed characteristic curve according to theexperimental data, and get the engine torque model at the steady-state. And then putforward the starting control strategy with keeping engine speed constant, defined themain control parameters, including: the target engine speed, the target engine torque, thetarget displacement of clutch engagement, the target speed of clutch engagement, etc.④T hrough the experiment data, analyzed some problems oftenappear in the realapplication of constant speed starting process, and put forward the solution. Analyzesseveral forecast methods about target accelerator pedal opening, curve-fitting and BPnetwork have higher prediction accuracy and can been used to forecast targetaccelerator pedal opening in different conditions.⑤A t last, it established the model of whole vehicle using the main parameters, andthe simulation analysis was given. In this paper, the simulation results show that the starting control with target accelerator pedal opening can effectively optimize thestarting quality of AMT vehicle, shorten the starting time.So this can meet the designrequirements well.
