LabVIEW is a software as the developing surrounding on the basis of graphic editionlanguage, widely accepted in the field of industry, academia and research laboratories.Specifically in the field of test and measurement, it is widely acknowledged as a standardsoftware for data collection and instrument control, since it can apply its graphicalinterfaces and powerful computer data processing capability to make the programmingprocess and its application more simplified and efficient.This paper explores into the findings of the use of high-speed data acquisition card toachieve the gamma ray spectrometry data processing by virtue of LabVIEW softwareprogramming. The article provides a detailed description of the detailed design of thesignal pre-processing circuits and the energy spectrum-processing software for gammaspectroscopy system. Firstly, in terms of signal preprocessing, it is mainly to design suchfive functional modules as the high-voltage power supply circuit, the filter and pulse signalshaping, the linear amplification, the baseline restorer, and the peak hold and control. Inthe software design, the paper is to design and implement the man-machine interfaces, datacollection, spectrum data processing. Finally, the hardware circuits are debugged andoverall system performance indicators are tested, showing that the whole research designmeets the system requirements.The concrete findings are as follows:(1) The signal preprocessing circuits are achieved for the amplification and shapingprocessing of the gamma spectrum signal, proved to meet the high-speed sampling and theanalysis of digital amplitude.(2) The peak hold circuit are achieved for the peak stability in the A/D conversionprocess.The high-speed data acquisition card can achieve the gamma signal’s A/Dconversion.(3) The research has developed the spectrum data processing software with the hostcomputer, and achieved the functions of data reading, processing and display, whichinvolves the high-speed sampling of driver capture card, the receiving data of acquisitioncard, the analysis of multi-channel pulse amplitude, drawing spectrum lines, the determining of peak positions and peak areas, the noise reduction processing of spectrumlines, calculating the peak areas, energy calibration and the like.
