Primary Study On Passive Design Of Multi-atrium

In Passive Building Design, the designer best takes advantage of the naturalenvironment to adopt reasonable building display, building structure, building space,as well as certain suitable materials, so as to design the best environment for humanto live and work, as long as the unique building approach, just based on theknowledge of local climate, green vegetation, geohydrologic condition and so on.In modern architecture, an atrium is a large open space situated within a building,often with different function of transportation, rest, communication and scenery.Besides, throughout design, it can importantly regulate the indoor environment, suchas ventilation and lighting. The multi-atrium, which combines atria with differentstyles and different features together, can better adapt to natural environment, so as toserve building and human much better.From theory to practice, throughout the materials collection and sorting, casesanalysis, software modeling and program proposal, we preliminary study theimplementation of Passive Design approach of multi-atrium.we find out that present researches mostly focus on the spatial characteristics ofsingle atrium, but few on the combination of passive design and these spatialcharacteristics. Therefore, we start with the basic approach of passive design andbasic types of atria, and summarize the application of passive approach in singlebuilding, so as to explore the application and implementation of passive approach inderived style, the multi-atrium. In terms of theory research, we also summarizedifferent factors, which influence the design effects of passive approach, use thesefactors as the normal principals to control the combined atria.We elaborate the design of this practical program of Yun Long Office Building inZhuzhou, displaying how to design a unique building with local characteristicsthroughout the selective application of passive design, based on the exact localenvironment, so as to summarize the principals and methods in multi-atrium buildingdesign.
