| Water resources planning and management undertaken in changingenvironment is becoming more and more popular, thus, it’s important toexplore new ideas and methods. After comparing the traditional waterresources system analysis method, we choose the agent-based modeling(ABM)method, which has been recognized as an effective approach for modelingcomplex systems through the use of nonlinear functions that derive “systememergenceâ€(system behavior) from agents’ behaviors. Using mathematicalmethod, firstly we research on a simple basin composed by three users, thenwe generalize our conclusion, which is about spatiotemporal patterns, to acommon complex basin. A decentralized optimization algorithm is developedafter its availability is proved. Through the decentralized optimizationalgorithm we detect spatiotemporal patterns by a hypothetical case, and getsome revelatory conclusions; Then we apply the decentralized optimizationalgorithm in the Yellow River basin, in order to discuss the more reasonablestrategy of water allocation. In the decentralized optimization algorithm, this paper fully considersthe economic value of water resources. Index, such as economic benefits, marginal benefits, water rights, water price and so on, is studied in thecontext of water market. |
