| In the fast process of urban development, the population of city and the demand forurban construction land are both increasing, and at the same time, great sites in thebuilt-up area of city are gradually eroded by city construction, which causescontradiction between site protection and the land development and utilization in sitessurrounding areas.Basing on the analysis of various land use layout requirements of Daming Palaceareas in all previous Xi’an urban master plan as well as the present land developmentand utilization situation of this area after the act of the third Xi’an urban masterplan,this paper studies relevant policies on the land development and utilization inDaming Palace areas basing on site protection, and summarizes the domestic andforeign typical successful cases. At the end, this paper puts forward strategies to solvethe contradiction between Daming Palace site protection and the disordered landdevelopment and utilization in site radiation surrounding areas, namely planning guidestrategy, city management strategy and city brand strategy. Planning guide strategy ismainly to adjust the land use nature of Daming Palace areas, control the style, buildingheight and development density of the radiation scope of the sites, coordinate theconstruction of municipal and public facilities, as well as make temporal landdevelopment by planning. City management strategy is mainly to meet government,development, local residents and tourists who four win-win, provide preferentialpolicies support to make Daming Palace land reserves in benign operation, then realizecombined development with the site park and the surrounding areas by citymanagement. Basing on the own brand of Daming Palace areas--the historicalculture and the contemporary North Road street culture in Daming Palace areas, City brand strategy extracts history and modern culture symbol to using in Daming Palacesite protection and the city construction of the surrounding areas, integrat the historicaland modern culture to enhance the region’s overall quality. |
