Research On Urban Road Landscape Design Guidelines Compiling System

As new urban zones are massively developed in recent years, people from allwalks of life paid more attention to the road landscape construction. With the city as awhole, it is increasingly urgent to control and guide a lot of various. But, in the currenturban road landscape design guidelines are not only limited to practice in road, but alsolacks successful cases. In this background, centrally aimed to establish the roadlandscape design guidelines compilation system, this research applied systematicresearch, comparative research and other scientific approaches to combine commonmethods for compiling the existing urban design guidelines and particularity of roadlandscape design so as to clarify its role and position in the domestic urban planningcompiling system. Also, its control goal was discussed. The entire guidelines compilingframework was composed of general rules, detailed rules and drawings. Last but notleast, the specific compilation contents were expounded by analyzing phase II project inQujiang.The paper used six pages to discuss the urban road landscape design guidelinescompiling system. Chapter1is the introduction. Chapter2gives the general method ofcompiling general guidelines and their general application in urban planning, focusingon the relationship between road landscape design guidelines and city design guidelines.Chapter3analyzes characteristics of the guidelines, clarifies the necessity of controllingthe road landscape, existing issues in China and further states the necessary of studying road landscape design guidelines compiling system; analyzes role and position of theguidelines in city planning system in our country; specify the controlling goals oflandscape design guidelines; points out basis, principle and methodology for compilingthe guidelines and principle and necessity of guideline system standardization andsystematization. Chapter4discusses the guidelines compiling framework the roadlandscape design guidelines fall into general rules, detailed rules and drawings fromthree aspects, namely road landscape control factor, road classification from theperspective of landscape and domestic and overseas landscape development trend.Chapter5describes the main parts of compiling the guidelines by studying the phase IIproject in Qujiang. The general rules cover drafting principles, control objectives,overall road landscape framework; detailed rules have six parts: road spatial interface,cultural exhibition system, public-use bicycle system, wide open road space, roadgreening system and road facilities pieces; drawings are all illustrations of variousselected typical roads including construction requirements for overall road landscapeand for facilities pieces, illustrations of construction keypoints and open space.Focusing on conclusion and innovation, methods, framework and contents of compilingroad landscape design guidelines are concluded with innovation points of the researchin Chapter6as an overview.The most crucial point of the research is: Establishment of a set of urban roadlandscape design guidelines compiling system and method on the entire urban area. Thepoint gives birth to three innovative subpoints: Role and status of urban road landscapedesign guidelines; the classification method for urban landscape road; drawingexpression of typical road landscape controls.
