Research On The Compilation Method Of Street Landscape Design Guidelines Based On Culturgen Heritage

In the current urban development in China,the “Incremental era” has entered the “Stock era”.Under the background of urban development and renewal,which has been increasingly concerned and valued,street space is the most frequently used and most easily perceived in cities.So the promotion and optimization of street space has become a significant factor in urban renewal.Meanwhile,China’s historical and cultural heritage is profound,especially for the central functional area in Beijing.The discovery and protection of its history and culture also plays a crucial role in Beijing’s cultural revival and urban development.Hence,for urban street space,‘how to explore the reproduction and development of culture in street space in a more systematic and scientific and comprehensive way on the basis of ensuring reasonable transportation and improving the quality of street living environment’ would be a question that deserves our deep thought.With the continuous development of street design theory and practice all over the world,‘street design guidelines’ is gradually accepted and regarded as a more systematic and more macroscopic street planning and design research theory and method,which gradually gained attention in China.Public awareness has also been raised to the study of Culturgen theory.However,the current research on street design guidelines in China is still in its infancy,especially in terms of how to explore the culture of urban streets and how to inherit and develop.Thus,the study of the establishment and method of street design guidelines from the perspective of culture is also becoming more and more crucial.This paper aims to take the Culturgen theory as the research perspective and take the street space in the Central Functional area of the capital as the research object.And the purpose is to explore the establishment and method of the street design guidelines as well as systematically discover the street culture and enhance the street culture vitality.Firstly,I would extract,analyze and summarize and systematically construct the cultural gene pedigree of street space.Which is through relevant theoretical research,field research and other methods.On this basis and via the evaluation of cultural genes,I would clear the standards of weights and establish evaluation system of the concentration of street culturgen,as well as use it to facilitate the standards of street classification and streetscape typology analysis.Finally based on all above,I would propose the thought and method of urban street design guidelines from the perspective of cultural genes.I would also present the central functional area streetscape design guidelines from three aspects including overall guides of streetscape styles and features,streetscape typology guides based on the Concentration of street gene,and design guides of streetscape cultural elements.Hence,I would offer multi-scale and multiangle approaches to systematically aid the organic integration between street space and historical & folk custom in the core zone of Beijing in terms of planning and design guidelines,and provide reference for the follow-up work of urban street design guidelines and street culture development in the other domestic cities,which have profound historical and cultural heritage.
