Dewatering is important in the foundation pit excavation engineering. Selecthydrogeology parameters rationally and to obtain good estimation, are both crucial tothe design and construction of foundation pit dewatering. Dewatering experiments areeffective means to solve the foundation pit dewatering related problems.This paper, relying on the experimental results of foundation pit dewatering in loessfield,with the use of finite element analysis, analyses the hydrogeology parameters andprecipitation effect and obtains the permeability coefficient of LiangWa loess in Xian;obtained the single-well-water-yield of a group of wells, the radius of effectiveprecipitation and water loss due to precipitation. Analyzed and obtained the soilinfiltration parameter, effective precipitation radius and water yield of foundation pit.With the above data, a precipitation funnel curve can be obtained.Form the precipitation funnel curve and its settlement, the difference in dewateringlevel can be estimated at different position and depth underneath the ground. Theprecipitation funnel and settlement fitting curve matches well with the actualengineering work. The result of this paper is valuable to similar projects in loess field.
