Steel shear wall with slits is a kind of structural member with superior energyconsumption behavior whose elastic stiffness can be adjusted according to the designparameters. Because of its good performance,it is studied widely by domestic andforeign scholars and especially suitable for high buildings in the high-intensity seismicregions.Based on the FEM ANSYS software, steel shear wall with slits and its equivalentsimplified model are studied systematically in this paper by changing the slit designparameters. The purpose is to seek the simplified calculation method of the steel shearwall with slits in order to provide references for its design and practical application. Themain contents of this dissertation are listed as follows:1) Quasi-static test of steel shear wall with slits is simulated by FEM softwareANSYS and compared with the real test, which carries out the comparativeanalysis conclusions of the hysteresis curve, the envelope curve, keyperformance indicators and failure modes. Because of the ideal constraintcondition, the lateral stiffness and ductility obtained is slightly larger than thereal one. Both the finite element and test results show that all final destructionsoccur in the upper right corner of the plate and the top of the right column. Thefinite element solution coincides with the experimental result which provides abasis for the follow-up extensive analysis of the slit steel shear wall.2) By changing the slit design parameters,21different-parameters steel plate wallswith slits are chosed which use two equivalent stiffness support systems tosimulate the performance of slit wall. With the respective monotonic and hysteretic loading methods, the comparative analyses of theload-displacement curves, frame column internal force and energy dissipationcoefficients are conducted. The results show that because of the different slitparameters, the load-displacement curve fittings of the two simplified modelsare quite different and most elastic stiffness and bearing capacity of thesimplified model are of much error.3) The research analyzes the relationship between elastic stiffness error and slitparameters, identifies the key factors affecting the elastic stiffness, puts forwardthe modified formula of the simplified model, and then gets more approximateresults; by monotonic loading on the modified simplified model, the monotonicloading curve is drawn which fits well. The elastic stiffness and bearing capacityerrors of the most simplified models are in the control of less than10%, whichare of good agreement.4) Modified simplified model is used on behalf of steel shear wall with slit inengineering structure examples in this research. The specific study is about staticpushover analysis of3spans10floors and3spans15floors examples by usingSAP2000. And then the influence of slit wall arrangement to the overallperformance of the structure is studied. Ultimately, the internal force distributionand plasticity development of bending steel frame-steel shear wall with slit arerevealed, which provides the basis for the engineering application andpromotion.
