Through constant evolution and development, Brushless DC motor’s excellentperformances make it has been widely used in various fields. DC motor has good speedregulation characteristics, simple control, high efficiency and excellent dynamiccharacteristics. It is currently the most optimal selection of speed regulating motor. Withthe upgrading of power electronic devices, embedded systems and control theory, thecontrol system that selects Brushless DC motor as control object has good developmentprospect.According to the selection of Chuanyi Corporation’s research on shielding door/safe door system gated motor, the paper use embedded system design method based onSOPC, to design a Brushless DC motor controller that meets the performancerequirements of the control system.SOPC, namely the system on a programmable chip, is an integrated system designmethod developed on the basis of SOC (system on chip). It inherits the hardcore,soft-core, DSP, memory, peripheral I/O and programmable logic. Relative to theSOC‘s specificity, Design of SOPC is more flexible and general. Miniaturization,universal, it is the inevitable trend of the development in microelectronic field. Theindustrial controller design has got more and more application in the field of industrialcontrol due to SOPC’s flexible design, short development cycle, and products to marketquickly.Brushless DC motor controller mainly comprises main control circuit, Hall signaldetecting circuit, current sampling circuit and motor drive circuit. The main controlcircuit‘s functions includes the detection of Hall circuit results for logical judgment,completion of the Brushless DC motor commutation, control of the external A/Dsampling timing as well as the PWM waveform control and output. The main controlcircuit is an integration that is based on FPGA and uses the Verilog HDL to realize eachfunction module. Hall signal detection circuit finishes the detection of Brushless DCmotor’s rotor position, also, through the way of isolation and partial pressure, itprovides the correct Hall pulse signals to the main control circuit, according to thesesignals,the main controller completes the motor’s commutation control and speedcalculation. Current sampling circuit contains bus current’s sampling and analog todigital conversion. These current digital signals which has been collected and converted are transmitted to the main controller to continue the corresponding treatment. Motordrive circuit takes the intelligent power blocks as the core, receives the FPGA PWMcontrol signals, then outputs the corresponding driving waveforms, finally completesthe motor drive control.In the light of the structure characteristics of Brushless DC motor, this paper hasused PWM modulation. Through the actual debugging of the control system, theexperiment results are also analyzed. The experimental results show that, the controllerof Brushless DC motor runs stable, be strongly real-time, convenient and easy toupgrade, provides a basis and reference to continue the follow-up experiment research.
