Nowadays in the market, products’cost is continuously reduced; meanwhile, individual demands for products are increasing unceasingly. In this situation, Mass Customization theory appears. It could not only reduce product cost to the minimum, but also satisfy customers’ individual demands. As the core of Mass Customization theory, configuration design has attracted the attention of all sectors in recent years.This paper has systematically studied product configuration design theory, product configuration modeling method, product configuration reasoning method and evaluation method, brought forward product configuration modeling method based on SML and knowledge and product configuration reasoning method based on case, which are applied in multi-functional hydraulic Jack product, and developed the multi-functional hydraulic Jack Product Configuration Design System. Specific content includes:The first chapter sets forth the background and significance of this paper, discusses the development and domestic&abroad situation of key technologies of product configuration design, compares various theories of product configuration design and introduces the main contents and overall structure of this paper at last.The second chapter elaborates some basic theories and the process of product configuration design. Meanwhile, it makes detailed analysis of multi-functional hydraulic jack products’ configuration and presents the configuration design process. At last, it analysis the individual demands of customers, and achieves customers’demands of multi-functional hydraulic jack product. After all of this, it confirms the weightiness of customers’ demands and converts customers’ individual demands to the order information of products.The third chapter mainly works over the configuration modeling process of multi-functional hydraulic jack product, introduces the theory and structure of SML and the construction process of multi-functional hydraulic jack products’configuration repository separately. After these, it represents the SML Unit Models, and constructs the configuration model of multi-functional hydraulic jack products based on SML and knowledge combined with multi-functional hydraulic jack products’configuration repository.The forth chapter brings up the product configuration reasoning method based on the CBR. According to customers’individual demands, it searches products’instance warehouse, and get the configuration instances aggregation from the instance warehouse. At last, evaluate the chosen instance aggregation and decide the best multi-functional hydraulic jack configuration case which can meet the customers’individual commands by using configuration reasoning mechanism; Then introduce the Analytic Hierarchy Process simply. For the situation of not achieving product configuration project, we can get the new instance through Various Design.Based on the theories above, the fifth chapter develops the multi-functional hydraulic jack product configuration design system, introduces the goal and environment of system, and gives the system’s overall framework. At last, it details every functional block of the system.The sixth chapter summarizes the main study contents of this paper, and shows the research direction in the future.
