Product semantics is borrowed from semiotic theory of development of a discipline, withthe continuous development of society, people’s growing demand for industrial products tobring people concerned about their spiritual and psychological experience and satisfaction,and this experience and satisfaction is largely dependent on product symbols to convey thesemantics and implementation. After a century of automotive history has not simply an afterindustrial products, the relationship between it and the people getting "close", the car designmore user-friendly. In today’s automotive design in the exclusion of technical factors, the caris designed more to integrate into the culture and other "soft factors", such expression ofcultural symbols in addition to semantic bring people joy of driving fun, more comfortableriding experience outside that can bring people personality, identity, self-worth is all about.Although China is a country of consumption but not the car production and design ofautomotive power, change the domestic automobile development among the disadvantages ofthe key is to enhance the design level of domestic vehicles, if the China elements andconcepts can be integrated into domestic automotive design is effective means to achieve thisgoal, product semantics through the use of domestically produced cars trying to show thedesign features of Chinese culture, this is the thesis of the study purpose.This paper first on automobile design and development are described in detail inconjunction with domestic and foreign automotive design comparative analysis of the statusquo of the domestic automotive design problems, which leads to the purpose of this study,then analyzed and summarized the theory of content and product semantics elements relatedto semantic representation, analysis of a representative national cultural characteristics of thecar and the car brand with design features, and then outlines the design can be applied todomestic car and ideological elements of traditional culture for the study of local culture inthe domestic automotive design semantic performance provide design material. Finally, thepaper analyzes the design of automotive styling, interior, colors, logo aspects of culturalexpression and the semantics of the application for the relevant design practice, try togradually form a local automotive design features during the process of theoreticalexploration and research.
