On-street and off-street parking facilities of the small and medium-sized citiesprovides a hardware basis for the static urban transportation system, which bears theaccumulation and dissipation of the dynamic traffic at both ends. With theaccelerating process of urbanization and increasing levels of motorization, trafficcongestion has become a very difficult problem, which brings the serious shortage ofcity parking facilities at the same time. In this thesis, the coordinate layout method issum up based on the analysis of parking demand forecasts and parking impact factors.Parking demand is divided into short-term parking demand and long-termparking demand. Short-term parking demand is provided by the on-street parkingfacilities, while long-term parking demand is provided by the off-street parkingdemand. The method of land use analysis and forecasting can be used to predict thetwo parts. To the coordinate layout method, the site selection of on-street parkingfacilities is the focus of this article, which is selected by elimination. Then, themaximum capacity of on-street parking facilities can be got by the model calculation.Site selection model of off-street parking facilities has been relatively mature. Themain content of this study is how to use the model for short-term parking and longparking demand scientifically and get the calculation method of the prediction modeland coordination of the layout model. What’s more, the model is verified on WugangCity.Layout of parking facilities is one of the important factors that affect thedevelopment of urban parking system. In this dissertation, The parking problems fordomestic cities is analyzed and summarized, and it will be beneficial to the cities’parking layout and the development of the transportation system.
