Study On The Architecture Technology Of Traditional Stone Houses Of The Mountain Area In Northern Henan

The land of China has a vast territory, and different natural environment, cultural customs in vary various regions, thus has formed different environment of human geography, and colorful, including the vastly different architectural forms and construction techniques in various places. The traditional stone houses of the mountain area in northern Henan is located in the transfer of Taihang Mountains area in northern Henan and Shanxi, Hebei, which has criss-cross rivers and unique natural attributes. The local residents are industrious and simple, who have lived in the depths of the mountain for generations, build houses with the mountain on the potential near the water, and make full use of local natural resources. The mountain environment and human environment shape the traditional stone houses with local characteristics in the mountain area of northern Henan. This highly regional construction is a manifestation of the architectural diversity, also is a form of traditional houses in Henan.In recent years, with rapid economic development and the internationalization of the buildings, the regional characteristics of the buildings were gradually fade out, which make the collection of national traditional culture and local characteristics become increasingly important to protect and develop. The traditional stone houses of the mountain area in northern Henan, as a residential form of the local characteristics of Henan Province, own formed of and variety of construction techniques and customs attached to the buildings, are the valuable historical wealth. The teachers of the school of Architecture Zhengzhou University who research on traditional houses led the students, and have been carried out in-depth survey and field mapping of the traditional stone houses of the mountain area in northern Henan, taking the Gaojiatai Village as an example. On this basis, to sort out and summarize the characteristics of the traditional stone houses of the mountain area in northern Henan and its construction techniques become possible.This thesis is part of "12th Five-Year" National Science and Technology plan topics in rural areas, which subject number is2011BAJ08B01-01.In this thesis, the structure is divided into two parts to study:The characteristics of traditional stone houses of the mountain area in northern Henan and the traditional construction techniques. Both of them are the unity of the research, and inseparable. For this article, it puts emphasis on the study of the traditional construction techniques of the stone houses of the mountain area in northern Henan.This thesis is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is an introduction. This part is the brief description about selected topic, present research situation, research content, research method, investigation and study situation and so on; The second chapter describes the overview of the traditional stone houses of the mountain area in northern Henan--The location, topography and natural environment, climate of the mountain area in northern Henan, etc., summarizes the characteristics of the traditional residential settlements and houses in northern Henan, and takes Gaojiatai village which has the characteristic of traditional stone houses of the mountain area in northern Henan as a typical case for the study; The third chapter provides a brief overview of settlement profiles and residential characteristics of Gaojiatai village; The fourth chapter is the most important part. This part carries out a more detailed analysis and research on traditional stone houses of Gaojiatai village. The content includes the architecture of building materials, load-bearing structure types and roof trusses constructed forms, the ground and platform, the wall type and tectonic, doors and windows in the form and structure, roof structure, stone components and decorative arts, etc.; Chapter five Proposes the protection and inheritance measures and principles for preservation status of traditional stone houses of the mountain area in northern Henan, and puts forward author’s evaluation, tips and advice for the future development of the traditional stone houses of the mountain area survived in northern Henan.Along with rapid economic development and culture internationalization, the value of depth study of the traditional stone houses of the mountain area in northern Henan are many, which is extremely valuable and fragile wealth. Through the excavation of construction techniques of residential stone architecture and research on update strategy, the purpose of this paper is to promote the continuation and development of the houses based low technology, to create good cultural benefits, and then to provide a detailed source and foundation for the inheritance and development of a variety of regional and sustainability of Henan residential houses.
