Sand and mud interbeded gently bedding high slope is quite common in southwest part of China. With the economic development of this area, this kind of slope can be encountered more and more frequently in construction projects. However, at present the research for this type of slope is still relatively backward, so how to deeply analysis and research on sand and mud interbeded gently bedding high slope can be a significant issue.Based on the background, this thesis relies on the topic of the failure mechanism and the engineering reinforcement technology of sand and mud interbeded gently bedding high slope in Chongqing Fuling to Shizhu Expressway", then make a stability evaluation of sand and mud interbeded gently bedding high slope. The main research contents and achievements are as follows:At first, regional engineering geology condition is surveyed in detail, then it can be inferred that the slope deformation is controlled by strata dip and interlaminar shear strength, the sliding surface is generally between sandstone and mudstone interlayer or interlayer shear zone.Secondly, a monitoring to the slope is conducted. Through the monitoring of slope displacement, the main sliding direction has been confirmed; and two potential sliding surface has also been found. What is more, a monitoring to prestressed anchor cable and anti-slide pile is also conducted, then the variation of anchor stress and anti sliding pile internal force can be deducted in the process of excavation, and thus the reinforcement effect on the slope is analyzed.Thirdly, the influencing factors in sand and mud interbeded gently bedding high slope and its’failure mode are analyzed. Then including the stereographic projection method and limit equilibrium analysis method, two different methods are used to evaluate the slope stability.At last, by using the method of numerical simulation, the slope stability is analyzed on different conditions, such as slope under natural condition, slope under excavation condition and slope under reinforcement condition. The conclusion and the monitoring results are basically in agreement.
