In order to better understand the marine environment, especially the coastal and offshore waters, to explore and use the marine resource reasonably, it needs to make accurate theoretical analysis and many artificial simulations by using advanced experimental equipments. To simulate and manufacture the ocean waves in artificial, it has developed many kinds of wave maker system domestic and international. Today the types of the wave maker system are numerous, the functions are also powerful, but there is few development of the high power wave maker system against the simulation of large waves, and rarely use new types of development equipments, development tools and development technique.Conventional single board wave maker system requires only one motor, because the power of high power wave maker system is very large, it is difficult to find suitable types of motors, for this reason it uses multiple motors in synchronization control, which requires all motors run good synchronization performance, accuracy and protection measures.This paper takes the wave maker system of the sate key laboratory of coastal and offshore engineering of Dalian university of technology for the background, targets at the practical project, researches and designs a kind of high power single board wave maker system by controlling multiple motors in synchronization in detail. In the designation it selects the new type motors, SIMOTION D435controller, drivers and terminal module devices, based on the SCOUT platform, configures the hardware devices, writes the programs of the lower position machine by ST language and MCC, and achieves the synchronization control of multiple motors by using gearing synchronization function, makes the scheme designation of the wave maker system, and builds the system in the laboratory, completes the important parts of the experimental testing work, it makes the wave maker system to achieve the basic functions of enable, jogging, homing, make waves, draws the feasible conclusion.Finally it introduces briefly the thought of a multiple boards wave maker system by using multiple controllers to control multiple motors, puts forward the future works need to improve, lays a certain foundation of the further development.
