Study On Space Perception Experience Of Elderly Facilities

Population aging on the development of elderly facilities had a great impact.Because of elderly’s mobility, reaction,hearing, and sight have decayed, elderlys need plentiful perception experience to keep and regain their health and vigor. This doctrine is applicable to all stages of life. For a long time, in the architectural design and research field, stay in the level of meeting the elderlys living function and barrier free facilities’allocation. Elderlys’ perception experience has been neglected in research,.Either for economic reasons, or from the lack of consciousness. Accompany with population aging in China, elderlys’perception experience needs into consideration in endowment building design.This article is based on the survey of urban and rural elderly facilities in the north of China, understand the basic condition of elderly facilities, space characteristics, using status, living methods and demand of old people. According to environmental psychology, architecture psychology, gestalt psychology, environmental behavior study as a foundation of theory, with the core of elderly facilities space perception experience and regeneration, around old people visual environment, perception experience, spatial awareness degree and integrity composition of building space to analysis and classify features of the space for elderly facilities. According to the problems existing in the present situation,offering a referential proposal for building elderly facilities to reinforce elderly facilities space perception experience, in order to meet life need of the elderly, provide the scientific basis and perfect technical reference for the development and construction of elderly facilities.
