Nowadays, the contradiction between energy environments and people’s demandfor cooling heating has become increasingly prominent, which urgently demandsimproving the design and manufacture level of compressor and refrigeration systemso as to increase their COP(coefficient of performance). Therefore, it is necessary todevelop an advanced measurement and control system to assess their performance.According to the GB, different systems are always set up to test the performanceof compressor and refrigeration system because of the difference between their testmethods.A new test platform is designed which can not only test the compressor with themethod of liquid flow counter of refrigerant but also the refrigeration system with themethod of fluid second refrigerant; what’s more, the test results through the methodsof refrigerant and second refrigerant can be checked by each other.This test platform consists of refrigeration cycle system, the external conditionsetting system, measure and control system, software. The structure and design ofthese subsystems are introduced in detail, including the selection and design of therefrigeration components, the analysis of test points, the selection of sensors andinstrumentation, the design of communication network and the design of electricalcontrol system. The characters of the system are as follows: first, high level ofautomation; second, this system can produce a variety of test conditions, thecompressor’s frequency is adjustable, and the heat exchanger and refrigerant arereplaceable, so it can research the different factors’impact on the performance ofrefrigeration system.The software is developed by C# and SQL Server 2005. The framework of thesoftware is designed with the method of object-oriented after analyzing the functionalrequirements. The design of the modules such as data collection, database, userinterface and data query are described in detail. The rule to judge the stability of thetest conditions is set up.Finally, the software and hardware of the system are debugged. Then thecompressor and refrigeration system are tested through this platform and the test datais analyzed. The actual operating result shows that the heat balance error is only 1.71%, the system can perform stably; the function and performance both can meetthe requirements.
