With the development of global economy,the multiple challenges facing themanufacturing and how to implement the effective management of the enterprise andmaximize customer satisfaction will be the target and starting point of enterprisedevelopment. The facilities planning of manufacturing system as a strategic problemhas been paid much attention in manufacturing enterprise. Although its cost onlyaccount for about2%~10%of the total investment, its effect on the efficiency ofwhole system is immeasurable. A good facilities planning design can not onlyimprove material handling efficiency, reduce the waste materials handling, but alsocan improve the working efficiency of the staff, and then improve the productionefficiency of the system.As part of the facility layout of manufacturing system problem, workshop layoutis central to the whole manufacturing system. X enterprise, the research object of thispaper is a mining machinery manufacture enterprise which is constructed a newfactory, ended with the general layout. The objective of this paper is to designmachine shop. The old factory of X enterprise has two size of machine shop and thenew factory will integrate and re-distribute the total equipments of the two machineshops. In the investigation process, the logistics paths in old factory are disorderedand undermine the production management on field because of the equipments usedthe traditional fleet type decorates way. In the manufacturing industry has gone from"seller" market to "buyer" market,how to maximize customer satisfaction willbecome the final target of enterprise.X enterprise has variety of mining machinery products, taking pulling productionmodel of order production and it can satisfy the processing methods of multifvarietiesand small-batch. So the cell placement design of machine shop in this paper will be ona two-step basis: cell formation and cell system layout. According to cell formation,this paper present that both equipment group and integrated cell formation model ofthe equipments in cell interior layout should be considered in cell formation, different from the traditional way which based on the construction of the machine parts matrix.For losing the general, it takes linear and cell interior equipment arrangement way thatcan accurately acquired the cell logistics handling distance in the excogitation.Considering the NP-difficulty of cell formation model, genetic algorithm is selected tosolve the model problem. To avoid to produce illegal solution, chromosome coding isrevised and unit grouping and unit interior equipment layout are outputedsimultaneously.The second step is to complete unit system layout design, making sure the layoutposition of each unit in workshop. The model of line equipment layout is applied tothe unit system layout design in this paper. First, the area and through put of each unitwill be calculated based on the cell formation result last chapter received. Then, usingthe genetic algorithm to find the solution to the model based on the dimensionalrestrict of workshop and unit noncoincidence, and taking advantage of automatic linefeed technology to process two-dimensional optimization of the layout problem.
