With the rapid development of the domestic economy, more and more families begin tohave their own cars. Correspondingly, the numbers of the automobiles in china get a hugeleap, and bring more and more environmental problems. As the issuing of the related environmental protection regulations, the emission standardsbegin to become stricter, which need a more sensitive equipment to detect the emissionopacity. This thesis designs an opacimeter (the part of detector tube) with a high degree ofsensitivity according to the principle of Beer-Lambert. The detector tube designed in thisthesis can be further used for the whole design of the opacimeter. So it can be used in thefuture for the environmental protection departments and related research institutions as aneffective tool to detect the opacity. In this thesis, we give the overall design philosophy and related design parameters. Andgive a detailed elucidation on the problems and give my solutions. And I also do a controlexperiment with the AVL439to analyze the feasibility in using the self-made detector tube todetect opacity. To separate the protective gas and sampling gas is key to this equipment. The main contribution of this thesis1: giving an analysis on the diverse Intake and exhaust form. Picking up the optimization ofthe Intake and exhaust form according to the characteristics the various Intake and exhaustform.2: solving the problem of the sealing between the protective gas and exhaust gas byintroducing the Jet chamber originally.3:introducing the laser to instead the white light as the light source originally, which couldpromote the accuracy of the measurement results to a new step.4:carrying out the control test with the AVL439,which gives a verification of the feasibilityof this equipment.
