ER Automatic Clutch is a new type of Automatic Clutch. The principleof ER Automatic Clutch is: when we impact an electric field into ERF,its occurred the electrorheological effect, viscosity and the shearingstress increases, so that transfer power from engine to the wheels.Electrorheological technology is one of more important changes for theauto industry revolution, and one of most key technical to theelectromechanical integration project in the future. Dynamics analysissimulation and control of the ER transmission equipment is the frontiertechnology and important development direction.This article are design the structure of ER Automatic Clutch,research the electrorheological performance and the using conditions ofthe electrorheological fluids, and analyze the combination process ofER Automatic clutch, establish the vehicle simulation model and designthe fuzzy self-adaptive PID control unit during starting process. Thisarticle’s working contents play a important role to the structure design,simulation and control of the ER Automatic Clutch in future.The contents of this paper consist into some subject areas, forexample, electrorheological technology, mechanical structure design,simulation and control and so on. The researching contents and conclusionprovide important experiment data and the theoretical basis for theapplication of the ER Automatic Clutch, and lay important foundation forachieving electromechanical integration project.
