In the system of regulations of urban planning nowadays in China, the control detailed planning is used to leading the design of every building plot. This manifests in two aspects: first, based on the upper planning, every plot has its own building economy index, such as building density, plot ratio and building limited height; second, some sentences are given aiding to control the view and landscape of the future building environment. After some practice under such regulation, we find that the second one is so weak in affecting the results of design. The reason is that those sentences are blur in expression themselves. Because of the different meaning of the same sentence for different designer, there is no doubt that there are many different design results after it.In this situation, this article aims at the quantification research of urban space, and the computer is used to simulating it. After comparing and analyzing the results of simulation,1wish to find out some quantification index to control the urban space. The V-skyline is set to be the research object and the fractal theory is used as a tool in the course of research. Some parameters in fractal theory are useful in depicting some quantification characters of the skyline, and after this analysis, we can get some conclusions. This article is divided into five parts:the first chapter gives the reason that I start this research and my goal; in the second chapter we review some similar research and get their conclusion useful for our research; in the third chapter I give out a brief introduction of the program used in simulation. The fourth chapter is the core of this article, because I show my simulation experiment in it; in the last one, some conclusions are presented based on the results of simulation in chapter four.
