The Study On Eaves Kiln Type Architectural Style Of Longquan Temple Shouyang County

Longquan Temple is located in the center of Wufeng Mountain in Shouyang County, Shanxi Province. The Temple which was built in between Tang-Song Dynasty, dating from about four hundred years, experienced repair history, forming the scale of the now until Ming Wanli. It was named Longchi Temple by the two inartificial clear springs inside the temple’s top and bottom, and then renamed it "Longquan Temple".Based on the historical background, geographical position and neighboring environment of Longquan Temple in Taian Yi Village, Shouyang County, Shanxi Province, the article finally summarizes the importance of the architecture’s element and peculiarity which are worth researching——"Eaves Kiln Type" Taoist Architecture, which provides the reference of protection and inheritance as well as a more detailed material for other historical architecture protection.Longquan Temple research is mainly based on field investigation, survey mapping, literature searching, inductive synthesis and combine with theories of Landscape Ecology, Landscape Planning and architectonics. Firstly, the article analyses the local geography and history. Secondly, it gets the first-hand material according to field mapping, observation and Chinese analysis on traditional structure culture. The relationships of building site selecting, architectural patterns, the mythology and the study on Longquan Temple are good for the production and using the architectural feature.The article contains34analysis charts and pictures as well as57bibliography.
