Friction pendulum bearings are excellent friction dampers. In this paper, there are two ways to analysis the FPB. One will stand reduced to the equivalent linear analysis model, and second, using the ABAQUS finite element software to analysis the bearing with the nonlinear way. Without the need for higher accuracy, the use of the equivalent linear method is effective and efficient. The equivalent horizontal stiffness of FPB, equivalent damping ratio of FPB and the level of slippage and bearing the hysteresis curve are the important indicator measure of dynamic characteristics of FPB.In this paper, the important parameters of the FPB, such as:slide the radius, the friction coefficient, the upper part of the quality, level of slippage, analysis of the hysteresis curve how to change when the parameters individually change; Based on the accurate hysteresis curve, put on the acceleration excitation to the substrate, when the parameters of simple harmonic motion to change the dynamic performance of the bearing; based on GB50011-2001standard, by adjusting the measured peak acceleration of seismic waves, applied to the bearing base, research bearing on fortification intensity under different dynamic performance; Finally, consider the unique viscous friction type bearing effect, can be made equivalent linear method, and obtained concrete results.Summary conclusions are as follows:Theory constructed hysteresis curves have a high accuracy and only when there have a large displacement the result may lead deviation; In forced vibration, with the change in input acceleration frequency, there are three typical motion state:viscous-sliding state, vibration with equal amplitude, resonance state, which, due to serious viscosity effect, bearing can not use the equivalent linearization method. Bearing capacity is proportional to the sliding surface coefficient of friction with the bearing, rotating surface friction coefficient is inversely proportional to the quality of the upper structure; In random vibration cases, bearing capacity is inversely proportional to the sliding friction coefficient, is inversely proportional to the intensity of the input vibration and less affected by the radius of the slide. Observe the displacement of bearing course, if the largest peak in the event of the cycle can not be reset, you should not use the equivalent linearization method; results show that the damping ratio of more than30%for the friction pendulum bearings, should be analysis with non-linear time process method.
