Synergetic Analysis Of Public Transit System And Urban Form

With the rapid progress of urbanization, motorization, and areas increasing rapidly, the conflict between urban transport supply and demand have become increasingly prominent. It is critical for conventional bus transport pattern to meet the increasing number of transport demand of modern city, which is also applied to private cars patten. The fundamental and leading role played by the urban public transport system in urban transport, as well as its impact on urban form,"Bus Priority" has become the focus of urban transportation development.Urban public transportation and the urban form interconnect and influence each other, so the only way of ensuring a healthy development of the city is to dive them to reach the status coordination. However, it is always seen that the two systems are not working coordinately, which is shown as public transportation system lagging behind or ahead of the development of urban form, hindering the sustainable development of the city. Basing on the synergetic analysis and previous research, using both qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis methods, the paper makes an explorative research on the coordinated development of the urban public transportation and the urban form.Firstly, the paper clarifies the clear connotation of the study, and analyses the mechanism of interaction of public transport system and urban form. Then the inner character and coordination principle of public transport and urban form is present. Specifically, the modeling procedure includes4steps. Firstly, the evaluation index system is built; Secondly, the principal component analysis is adopted to extract the sequential variables of public transport system and urban form; Thirdly, the coordination degree is obtained with the values of the sequential variables from the principal component analysis; Last, the relationship between coordination degree and the influencing factors is found, based on correlation analysis. Finally, taking Shenzhen for example, the paper analysis the situation of the city based on data of public transport system and urban form between2001and2009, an assessment of coordination degree is calculated. The result shows, with the growth of the city and economic, the public transport system is also developed, which reached a peak in2005because of the metro in operation. Also, the full development of public transport system will not only adapt to the demand of the city, but also guide the development of the urban form.
