| Global warming, as the result of the increase of carbon dioxide emission, has been gradually affecting the human life. The rapid growth of construction industry requires a lot of high-carbon materials, consumes large amounts of energy in the construction process, and more importantly, emits large quantities of carbon dioxide. How to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from construction has become one of the main issues of global warming.Through the investigation of low-carbon decoration construction, six factors that play the major role in low-carbon decoration construction were identified and integrated into the evaluation system, which included low-carbon construction management, material conservation and use, water conservation and use, energy conservation and use, environmental protection management, and carbon dioxide emission during the construction. Based on the input-output model and current decoration industry, the system provided the calculation formula and a series of low-carbon decoration indexes, which were able to evaluate whether a decoration construction was low-carbon construction. The evaluation system had three levels of score indexes, including the1st level indexes which were the five major factors, the2nd level indexes which were the detailed items of each1st level index, and the3rd level indexes which were the specific assurance measures for each2nd level index. The score of each index was based on a lot of decoration construction experiences, data, and implementation effects, while the weight of each index was determined by the analytic hierarchy process. The final score was given in a simple0-100scale, and the standard of the low-carbon decoration construction was provided for further evaluation. An office decoration construction by a Kunming construction group was evaluated as an example, which proved that the system can meet the construction requirement, can efficiently predict and evaluate the low-carbon decoration construction, further more the system is simple and easy. The goal of this project is to establish a low-carbon construction evaluation system based on the analysis of the key factors that affect the carbon dioxide emission in decoration construction, and the measurements of energy-saving, emission reduction, and environment protection. This system is not only used to evaluate a construction low-carbon construction, but also, importantly, used to identify the key factors that affect low-carbon construction, and the key steps that can greatly reduce carbon consumption during construction. These can help construction groups to accumulate more experiences of low-carbon decoration in their constructions. |
