The joint of CFST Column with Interior Strengthening Ring is widely used due to itsarchitectural beauty, definite load conditions and high economic benefit. But there are stillsome Difficulties that constraints its Application,such as weld the interior strengthening ringinside the steel tube is difficult and high cost;some weaknesses of the jointsstill has to be improved; Provisions to the width of the Strengthening Ring is still a gap.In order to Solve the problem above, By using the finite element analysis (FEA) programANSYS, the calculation model of the joint of a real project was set up and analyzed,Alsosix scale model with different type of welds were experimented to study their mechanical anddeformation properties under stresses.Firstly, finite element analysis model was set up. experiments of the joint with differenttype of welds are designed, The effect of the joint is investigated by analyzing the result ofexperiment and the finite element analysis (FEA) program.And then the feasibility ofchanging the type of the weld is investigatedSecondly,paper investigated alleviate the Stress concentration problem in the joint of theBeam flange and the Steel Column by adding a Stiffener.Finally,paper studied the influence to the mechanical properties caused by changing thewidth of the Strengthening Ring, and gives suggestions on the joint.
