With the sustained development of economy, China’s highway construction has beendeveloping rapidly. Asphalt pavement use a wide range on the highway, for it has theadvantages of riding comfort, low noise, and easy maintenance. However, road transportionpresents characteristics of the large and heavy traffic, and overloading. As a result, it is moreprominent and difficult to resolve the problem of severe rutting of asphalt pavement causedby the characteristic. Because the Roller-Compacted Concrete set as road base can provideuniform and firm support for pavement surface to increase the carrying capacity, RCC,to acertain extent, can alleviate the rutting problem. In this paper, the author trys to give amore systematic study to the preparation and property Investigation of RCC Pavement baseRCC is an ultra-dry concrete,applied to the few examples of Pavement Engineering inour country, The paper first launched the study on vibratory compaction molding methodsrelated to base course materials. The rational vibration parameters are given throughexperiments,and a feasible method of forming the specimen with the vibration compactionwas supposed, then a more depth research to the design of Roller-Compacted Concrete mixproportion and construction quality control. Competed on the construction quality control,the way to control and solve common quality problems in the construction process wasgiven,in the end.First of all, the theory of the absolute volume method is applied to perform RCC mixdesign.The basic principle of this method is: Volume of fresh concrete is equal to the absolutevolume of the constituent materials of the concrete (solid volume) and the volume of air, theamount of various materials can be obtained by calculating, resulting in the proportion ofRCC. The determination of RCC mixture adopts the orthogonal experiment method. Themixture ratio design principle of the method is clear and easy to calculate, but sometimesgapping with the actual situation, requiring validation through a combination of engineeringexperiments road.The base construction of Roller-Compacted Concrete currently has no existingconstruction specifications that can follow,and many quality problems often appear in theactual construction, so it is necessary to do something about its construction quality controlresearch, and find the way to control,solve the problems.
