| At present the problems of the elderly pension and dwelling have been more and more widely attended around the society while our country has already been the aging society. The elderly pension mode can be divided into three kinds:Home Care mode, Pension Institutions mode and Senior Apartment mode. In the view of the traditional notion in Zhujiang Delta region and the reality of the Social Pension facilities deficiencies, most of senior citizens choosing home care mode is a kind of inexorable trend. In this social context,"Two-Generation Dwelling" mode emerges and solves the problems about the life style differences between the aged and the young, and also can meet the requirements of taking care of each other. Economically Applicable Housing has made remarkable achievements in solving problems for vulnerable groups of low income housing and alleviated the city living pressure. In the Economic Application Housing field, the research on how to create the suitable "Two-Generation Dwelling" space for the aged is very necessary and valuable.This paper will take the Economically Applicable Housings in Guangzhou and Shunde as the main research objects, in the basis of the residential environment for the aged, by comprehensively using the questionnaire investigation and quantitative statistical analysis, and deeply research the behavior and psychological characteristics and needs of the aged group, and then preliminarily research on the self-helping aged people in the range of60to75years old. Though the research on residential units "Two-Generation Dwelling" at home and abroad, we will take "Two-Generation Dwelling" mode to integrate into the field of Economically Applicable Housings. We will though the residential survey for seniors in order to summarize the designs and strategies of Economically Applicable Housings in the stage of "Two-Generation Dwelling" for providing the valuable datum and expanding foundation of aged dwelling design in the other areas of Subtropical Zone. |
