The stable operation of secondary equipment is very important to the stable operation of the power system. In the power system, secondary equipment plays an important role on protecting, controlling and monitoring for primary equipment, which could furthest decrease the damage of faults the electric power equipment. With the rapid development of the power grid and the wide application of computer technology, the number of secondary equipment is growing and conventional secondary equipment is gradually replaced by new secondary equipment; the traditional periodic maintenance can not meet the requirements of the stability of the power grid. In order to improve the reliability of secondary equipment and reduce the inspection personnel’s workload, it is necessary to launch state evaluation of secondary equipment, quantitatively, correctly, and comprehensively, so we can take effective state inspection strategy. The main task of this paper is as follows:Firstly, this paper sorted the influence factors of the secondary equipment; based on the operation mechanism and the actual conditions of secondary equipment, the state evaluation indexes were analyzed and choose to establish the secondary equipment state evaluation index system, which built the foundation of establishing the secondary equipment state evaluation model.Secondly, according to the type and division of the secondary equipment, the state grading evaluation model of secondary equipment was established, which adopted a reasonable way for the state evaluation by level; based on the state index system, the state evaluation model of the secondary equipment was established with unified structure, which contained five aspects about primitive quality condition, history operation, maintenance condition, real-time operation condition and other factors.Thirdly, analytic hierarchy process (AHP) was used in this paper, in order to calculate the weight of each state parameter of the secondary equipment state evaluation model, which reasonably reflected the influence to the state of secondary equipment; the example showed that the calculating results can be the basis of evaluating secondary equipment state for inspection personnel.Finally, by using fuzzy comprehensive judgment theory, the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model of secondary equipment was established; combine the fuzzy evaluation method with analysis hierarchical process, we could find a more scientific and effective method for the secondary equipment state evaluation. Research results were applied to the practical power grid for the secondary equipment state evaluation work, which showed that this model was scientific and practical.
