Study On Flower Fixings Of Small Plants Based On The Theory Of Black Box

"Black-box" is something that we have no idea about its inner components or logic. But we can use it according to the specifications. Flower borders have gained popularity in recent years. But traditional landscape architects just have little expertise in the main materials—small plants (including shrubs and herbaceous plants). Complying with the scientific co-operation inevitable trend, the flower fixings designed by landscape designers can be compared to the "black-box" that provide convenience for the landscape architects.This subject disscused the design theory of the "Black box" in the flower border that is flower fixings in much greater detail from the standpoint of landscape designers. The theory includes design principles and design elements that we need to consider in the design progress. Adhere to the theory, we did some design practice of flower fixing and tried to accomplish flower matching of a flower border in the landscape design by combining small group of flower fixings in the fixed environment. From this we further discussed the theory of designing the flower border by combining flower fixings. Thus provide new strategies to design flower border in the garden plant landscpe. According to the research, we obtains following conclusions:(1) Through literature reviewing, summarizing and deep analysising, we got three design principles of flower fixings, that is ecological adaption, diverse function and artistic aesthetics considerations. The principles of ecological adaption included adaption to biological factors and abiological factors; The principles of diverse function included aesthetic function, environmental function and fabricative function. The principles of artistic aesthetics included the beauty from form, artistic conception and season.(2) Adhere to the principles of ecological adaption, diverse function and artistic aesthetics, we devided the design elements into categories including the elements of ecology, function (aesthetic function, environmental function and fabricative function) and art (plant shape, plant texture, plant color, cluture and season of interest). We also did deep analysis to the characteristics and application methods of every element to provide more practical guidance for the flower fixing design.(3) Basised on the theory research of flower fixings, we did some design practice. According to the different ecological condition, we design flower fixings specific to rock garden, waterfront, forest area and roof garden; According to the different function, we design flower fixings specific to landscape node, curb, lawn, forest margins and the side of walls. We design1-2flower fixings to every area. At last, we got11flower fixings.(4) At the same time, we did construction practice to the three flower fixings separately themed with the beauty of shape, color and season. And we also observe the dynamic landscape.(5) At last, we tried to accomplish flower matching of a flower border by combining small group of flower fixings in the fixed environment and got the design theory:It has flexibility to design a flower border by combining flower fixings, that means when combining flower fixings, they need to Interlacing to each other; they could enlarge planting areas and they also could be repeatedly used. At last, overall adjustment is necessary.
