Brushless Direct Current Motor(BLDCM) has many advantages such as simple in structure,reliable operation,convenience to maintain, good dynamic and static characteristic etc. So it hasbeen widely applied in industry. With the higher demand of the control precision, response speedand stability in industrial control system, it is very important to research BLDCM. Afterconsulting a lot of documents and material, this paper mainly completes the following tasks:First, This paper gives a deep research on basic structure,working principles,mathematicalmodel and control performance of BLDCM, and analyses the "back emf method" controlprinciple of the brushless DC motor. At the same time give the method to the problem that theback emf method couldn’t self-start.Second, the control structure and control strategy of BLDCM are analyzed in detail.Considering the characteristics of the traditional PID control and f the fuzzy control, weput forward the fuzzy PID controller. It is the combination of the traditional PID control methodand the fuzzy control technology, also overcome the weakness of each other. Matlab/Simulinkhas been used to set model and simulink for control system of BLDCM. The results show thatthe control system has advantages of quicker response,smaller overshoot,more stableperformance, which donates the feasibility of the scheme.Finally, elaborate the hardware and software design of the brushless DC motor controlsystem. In view of a lot of high frequency signal in the motor, We choose the proportion andintegral link of fuzzy PID regulator as fuzzy PI adjuster to control the system. The controlsystem centre on the TMS320F2812DSP chip of TI company. The hardware mainly includes themain circuit, drive circuit and detection circuit. And the software mainly includes the mainprogram, interrupt subroutines, fuzzy PI adjuster, PWM production etc. Also the flow chartprogram is provided in the paper.
