Research On CAPP Application In Single And Mini-batch Machinery Manufacturing Enterprises

The continued progress of science and technology promotes the continuous innovation of manufacturing and design technologies in manufacturing enterprises. As an important part of advanced manufacturing technology, Computer Aided Process Planning (CAPP) is also growing rapidly and new CAPP systems are coming out endlessly. In recent years, many CAPP researchers and technical personnel of enterprises are promoting the CAPP automation and intelligent continually, at the same time, some other researchers are also trying to make the CAPP systems more practical and commercialization. However, in many manufacturing enterprises, the application of CAPP systems is not satisfactory. Process design is a complex task and different types of enterprises have different needs, which makes it imperative to develop and design CAPP systems for their own characteristics. Based on the analysis of process design characteristics of single and mini-batch machinery manufacturing enterprises, the paper summarizes the requirements of process design and developed a CAPP system for such enterprises.Firstly, the paper analyzes the technological characteristics of single and mini-batch machinery manufacturing enterprises,and summarizes the requirements of the CAPP. After that, the paper puts forward the basic functionality required of such enterprises for CAPP systems and designs the functional model of the CAPP system.Then the paper describes the function modules of the CAPP system in detail. As the production in single and mini-batch machinery manufacturing enterprises is organized according to orders, a new process structure based on product design structure and order structure is proposed. Rapid process design can be realized on the basis of this structure. During the designing process, the process cost can be estimated and controlled, which makes the estimated cost less than target process cost. In order to solve the information island problem, the paper studies the integration of CAPP system and ERP (Enterprise Resources Planning) system.At last, the CAPP system is applied in Jigang Equipment Company, through which the feasibility of the system is proved.
