With the development of high speed and heavy haul railway, the demand for Large Track Maintenance Machinery is getting greater and greater, and the need of its quality has become higher and higher. Rail grinding has become an important mean of track maintenance. Nowadays, however, most of the rail grinding trains need to be imported. Restricted by foreign technology blockage and domestic manufacturing level, there are still some deficiencies on the function and reliability of domestic rail grinding trains in application process. So, it’s necessary to make an intensive study of rail grinding trains. This paper mainly discusses the loading system of the rail grinding equipment, which is the core part of the rail grinding train and determines the work quality of the train. The main focus of this paper is described as follows:1. Summarizing the development situation and application of foreign rail grinding technology, and introducing all kinds of rail grinding trains of the leading rail grinding manufacturers at home and abroad(including basic parameters, structure, performance characteristics and so on).2. In the process of analyzing railway disease, on the basis of previous research works, it is to study on the principle of rail grinding, and get the result that corrugation is the main railway disease. The rail grinding is mainly for the corrugation defect. By comparing several kinds of loading methods, we determine to use the constant force loading method for the rail grinding train, and use the three-way proportional pressure-reducing valve as the loading valve of the grinding loading system. We also draw up the hydraulic system diagram of the grinding car.3. Type selection of the three-way proportional pressure-reducing valve, which is the key hydraulic element in the grinding loading system. Making a mathematical model of the loading system and drawing the bode diagram. By analyzing the model, we can draw the conclusion that the three-way proportional pressure-reducing valve loading system is stable, and it can meet the requirements of the loading system of rail grinding trains. 4. Based on the analysis above, an AMESIM simulation model of the grinding loading system is established for the simulation analysis. The simulation result shows that:the constant force loading system of the rail grinding train, which use the three-way proportional pressure-reducing valve, has a good stability and following performance. The following performance between the displacement of the hydraulic loading system and the corrugation is also good. The result can show that the design theory of the loading system is correct and feasible.5. Make an experimental research on the experimental platform which we Design and build. By analyzing the pressure testing data, which is detected in the loading cavity of the hydraulic loading cylinder, the improved system has obtained the expected results.
