With the rapid development of China’s economy and the process of urbanizationaccelerated, people are demanding more and more for the urban infrastructure. Thetraditional electronic bus stop can not meet the higher demand of the passengers onthe bus service quality any more. Electronic bus stop is a set of electronics,communications and computer technology in one system, which will not only improvethe operational efficiency of urban public transport, but also provide the basis forrational management and scientific scheduling of the relevant departments. Itimproves the quality of public transport services as part of the core of the city ofintelligent public transport. However, the complexity of public transport seriouslyaffect the vehicle running time. Therefore, a new study of real-time accurate transitvehicle arrival time prediction method in the field of intelligent public transport hasvery important significance.This paper studies the design and development process of the electronic busstop.The system is made up of three part including the data receiver module, the maincontrol module and data display module. The ARM chip STM32F103will receiveinfomation from the wireless data receiver module and deal with it, then some of theinformation displayed through the LED screen out using GPRS network. With fullanalysis of the various factors that affect the public transport vehicles running time,this paper proposes a bus arrival time prediction model based on SVM and H_∞filtermethod in order to improve the transit vehicle arrival time prediction accuracy.Changsha City305-line data are used in experiments, and results show that: the busarrival time prediction method based on SVM and H_∞filter has a better performancethan the existing prediction algorithm (such as SVM, SVM-Kalman) but also has agood Robust property. It can predict transit vehicle arrival times in complex trafficenvironment effectively which has a very important significance in the promotion ofthe development of intelligent public transport,which helps improving service qualityof public transit vehicles and bus management level.Finally, after the completion of the entire electronic bus stop design, it is testedin the actual application and has been optimized and upgraded. The electronic busstop has achieved some functions, such as bus station time update and real-time trafficinformation issues, and has a good performance in trial run in company of Changsha city bus.
