With the scale expansion of power system and the development of new energy technology, the interconnection of large-scale new energy component has aggravated the complexity and randomicity of power grid, and brought about potential risk for the security and stability of system operation and control. How to accurately identify and assess the potential risk has significant importance to improve the safety operation and make dispatching decisions, there is in urgent need for a new method on security analysis to correctly identify risk.Risk based security assessment is the addition of traditional deterministic security assessment approach, which captures two factors of events:likelihood and severity, so it can quantify the system security level more explicitly. This thesis first introduces the development of the power system risk based security assessment, and describes the probability and severity of low voltage, loss of load, control cost and cascading fault by combining risk with some problems of power system static security, then a procedure of cascading pattern is simulated. A power system operating mode corrective control model based on risk, which considering different types of risk as objective function, is established to minimize the risk of predictive contingency and solved via the primal-dual interior point algorithm. In order to coordinate the conflict between the various control measures, an integrated risk indicator is presented. The IEEE-14,30,118bus system are adopted to test the effect of the model, the results show that the integrated risk indicator can be more effective than the individual risk. Finally, a rule has been set to distinguish the risk level, compared with the power flow an optimal power flow operating mode, the risk based operating mode has th lowest risk level.
