As the only component between vehicle and ground, tire-ground contact deformation isan important factor which affects vehicle driving resistance and traffic-ability. Studying ontire-ground contact deformation has great significance on reducing vehicle driving resistanceand increasing vehicle adhesion, so it can provide reference for improving of the performanceof vehicle and designing and manufacturing of new travelling mechanism.Taking commonly-used7.50-16drive wheel of miniature tractor as research object, andthe combination method of computerized numerical simulation and experiment was applied toANSYS finite element analysis and experimental study of tire-ground static deformation inthis paper. Tire-ground contact model was established in Pro/E software, and tire-groundcontact3D finite element model was established through Pro/E and ANSYS softwareinterface, and the correctness of contact model was also proved. The experimental resultsshowed that the deformation of inflated condition of tire and load condition of groundaccorded with general deformation rules, it’s indicated that the contact model can correctlyreflect the deformation of tire-ground contact.Tire deformation tests of different pressure and static load conditions were carried out onthe ground in various hardness, the results showed that there was a linear relationship betweentire deformation and load under the same pressures, and logarithmic relationship between tiredeformation and pressure under the same loads on the concrete pavement. Tire-ground contactdeformation under250kPa tire pressure is smaller than the deformation under100kPa tirepressure in soft ground which imitated stubble field hardness, and the deformation under250kPa tire pressure is greater than the deformation under100kPa tire pressure in in softground which imitated tillage field hardness. And the regression equation on the concretepavement among the factors of tire deformation, pressure and load was established, tireformation can be predicated by using this equation. Some test data was selected to put into the contact model for analysis, through thenumerical analysis and test results, it’s found that the error of numerical analysis and testresults is within10%, which could satisfy error requirement, this indicated that this finiteelement model can be used to simulate tire-plot contact deformation. Establishment of finite element model can simplify research process and curtail researchperiod, it can also supply a new research method to study tire-plot contact deformation. Inaddition, this model can be used to predict tire-plot contact deformation. Meanwhile, significant reference for improving performance of vehicle and designing and manufacturingof new travelling mechanism was also provided.
