The continuous acceleration of the progress of world urbanization and the improvementof its level has brought people great convenience in terms of their livelihood and productiveforces, as a result of which, however, a series of urban problems have arisen simultaneously.Various urban troubles like the leap growth of urban population, the rapid expansion of urbanscale, the deficiency of the urban green open space, urban traffic congestion, poor transportefficiency, severe pollution and environmental degradation are, in the final analysis, led by thecontradiction between urban spatial expansion and the constraints of urban land resources.During the developmental process of urban construction, the advantage and potential ofunderground space exploitation and utilization in expanding the capacity of urban space andraising urban utilization rate have been gradually cognized. While in the exploitation ofunderground space, the underground complex development and the subway operation not onlyoccupy an important position but play a pivotal role in guaranteeing its success. In addition, the synchronism and interaction between underground complex development and subwayconstruction are evident with the convenience the former brings for subway passengers and itsincome to support the construction and operation of the subway and the stable passenger flowthe latter supplies for the underground complex which will in turn promotes the undergroundspace utilization. Therefore, it becomes a significant research project to integrate undergroundcomplex with subway station and conduct a reasonable design. This thesis focuses on the characteristics of underground complex to make a research ofclassification on the underground complex. Meanwhile, combined with some successful casesof integration of underground complex and subway station home and abroad, it summarizesthe design principles and strategies of functional organization, traffic organization and disasterprevention design. It also analyses the aforementioned principles and approaches by studyingthe Metro Finance City project in Nanhai District, Foshan. Through the analysis and summaryin this thesis, beneficial inspiration and methods for the integrated design of the undergroundcomplex and subway station are supposed to be provided.
