| With continual development of our campus construction, we gained cheerful achievementin recent years. Nevertheless, some universities encounter “quality†issues due to quantitativeover-growth: e.g. imbalance of campus space management; a lack of campus buildingintegrated design etc. This thesis throughout and deeply analyzes contemporary typicaluniversity environmental design and planning via “building integrationâ€, an integrated designthinking method and the specific research of teaching area, the most important part among allthe university functional areas. Based on theories of typology, Morphology, and environmentalbehaviorism with different aspects, this thesis provides comprehensive study on relevantelements and systems of contemporary university building Integration, by which we attempt tosummarize some principles, rules and methods of campus teaching building integration, so asto learn how building integration theory works holistically in integrating campus teaching areaenvironment.This Thesis is divided into6chapters. In the first one, it clearly stated the origin of theresearch of “building integration designâ€, the concept of the research subject, researchcategory of the subject, the research frame, the research approach and the meaning andpurpose of this research.In the second chapter, it discusses theoretical basis of contemporary university campusbuilding integration design, which include the typology and morphology of building structure;environmental behaviorism, campus planning, theory of building design, urban design as wellas other building integration-related theories.In the third chapter, it mainly concerned with the fundamental principles andcharacteristics of campus teaching area building integration design. These fundamentalprinciples listed as:1. holistic, functional compound, space diversity, inter-disciplinary sharing;while fundamental characteristics are: element integration, unit duplication, resource sharing,low-speed.The forth chapter presents a360°analysis of the basic elements of campus buildingintegration in the newly built-up universities in contemporary China with typical campusenvironment case studies. Throughout research on the “hard†and “soft†aspects of campusbuilding integration, the common rules and principles of teaching area building integration areexpected to be summarized.The fifth chapter analyzes different structure system of building integration and figuresout their respective inner rules and the connection with each other. Furthermore, readers are able to learn how “building integration†functions as campus building integrity design methodand how different system inside synergically work together.In the sixth chapter, it provides the summary of types-, methods-and application ways-ofcampus teaching area. A series of instructive principles such as the key design elements ofcampus building integration, various systems, integrity methods are extracted here and beingextended with application in current practical cases in order to ensure the rigorousness and thefeasibility of this thesis. |
