The Pavement Condition Research Of Guangsan Highway Expansion Project

The GuangSan highway located in NanHai and Sanshui District, Foshan, is an importantchannel of the Pearl River Delta region which can connect the northwest of the Guangdongand Guangxi. After2003, due to the rapid growth of highway traffic, the traffic capacity ofroads is nearly saturated, the level of service tends to decline, GuangSan highway is needed tobe widen and transformed.In view of historical conditions and present road situation of Guangsan highway, basedon the expansion of technical solutions approved by Engineering, carrying out the study ofGuangsan highway expansion pavement design project. To study the pavement performancepresent, pavement thickness of each layer and carrying capacity testing of the overall structure,materials testing of soil base. This paper also should study pavement structure design, roaddrainage design and finally analyze the material properties and stone preparation. Payattention to the protection of the old pavement during the construction period.The road performance survey is an important part of the road renovation and expansionproject. To survey and evaluate existing road usage, can not only as a technical basis for therenovation and expansion project, but also determine the residual value of the old roadstandards. Through the old pavement investigations, performance analysis and evaluation canlearn that the old pavements of this project are mainly a corner cracks, horizontal cracks, platebreakage and dislocation. Analyzing the disease was mainly vehicles’ role of seriousoverloading, high temperature, as well as the role of the surface caused by water infiltration.According to the disease form, put forward the corresponding measures mainly to seam.In pavement structural design, based on reasonable selection of the pavement structuredesign parameters and analysis of the structural mechanics of the old road surface, for roadstatus quo, establish pavement structural mechanics analysis system. Through theoreticalanalysis and mechanics to give a reasonable pavement structure design, and study several keyissues such as: the old and new concrete pavement panel stitching, composite sections ofpavement disease treatment, disease treatment and structural reinforcement of asphaltpavement sections, and the excavation of the concrete pavement slab, asphalt mix materialsand cement stabilized granular recycled.In addition, we should consider the necessity of the road drainage design; especiallyconsider the basic problem, such as pavement drainage in the inside of the normal sectionsand ultra-high segment; central reserve drainage of the pavement drainage; outside theultra-high segment of pavement drainage; deck drainage.
