With the energy issues becoming more and more seriours, people are prompted to findnew energy or new energy using forms replacing conventional energy sources. According tothe latest Energy Conservation Ordinance,“The state encourages installation of energysaving construction material and facility in new buildings and in existing buildingtransformation, installation and application of renewable system like solar system”. Thispaper is based on using of new energy saving wall material and solar energy. A new energyconservation program have been put forward which combined phase change technique andsolar ventilation.Natural ventilation is one of the most important technologies in improving air qualityand decreasing energy consumption of air-conditioner in modern energy-efficient buildings.Ventilation of the solar chimney is a kind of natural way of ventilation under thermal pressureeffect. Using solar radiation to heat the chimney air can not only provide buoyancy for the airbut also enhance air movement in the chimney system. Besides,in the process of phasechange, the phase change materials absorb and release a mass of energy. Applying thisenergy into the building envelop, its heat storage ability will improve, indoor temperaturefluctuate range will decrease, and the air-conditioner operating time for building heating orcooling is reduced. Furthermore, the goal of upgrading indoor comfort and energy savingmay come true.In order to choose the suitable PCM which have appropriate phase change temperatureand latent heat, this paper combines the climate feature in hot summer and warm winter zoneand analysis the meteorology data in Guangzhou, such as outdoor temperature, humidity,solar radiation. An experiment has been established to study the indoor thermal environmentcondition and peak value of heat load reducing and transforming effect when cabin installedTrombe wall and phase change material.The experimental results show that, compared with indoor temperature and humidity ofthe normal cabin, phase change cabin indoor temperature stays in a relatively comfortablerange and the day and night temperature difference lessened by3.4℃, day and night relativehumidity reduced by11.7%during March to April in Guangzhou. Temperature and humidity fluctuature range both decreased. The maximum temperature has been delayed for68minutes.The indoor discomfort valueI DCTwas dropped by13.3%. It can be seen that the indoortemperature and humidity are improved, home comfort is enhanced. Reducing andtransforming indoor air conditioner load serves a function of peak load shifting and energyconservation.Furthermore compared with normal cabin, the minimum wall temperature of the phasechange cabin raised by2℃, also the minimum difference between wall surface temperatureand dew point increased by2℃. It is showed that phase change wall increased indoor wallsurface temperature, enhanced temperature difference between walls and its dew point, andstrengthens the ability for preventing condensation of the cabin.Besides the Trombe wall gives well ventilation performance in the day time. During8:00a.m. to18:00p.m., the ventilation quality reaches around73.6m3/h~361.8m3/h, whichtotally meets the fresh air requirement.
