With rapid development of world economy, the frequency of the goods exchange is increasing around the world. With the implementation of management policies related to transportation in China gradually, the semi-trailer truck is efficient, economical, energy saving, environmental protection and significantly better than the monomer trucks.It’s bound to become the first choice. The size and number of semi-trailer manufacturing will also be a substantial increase.Therefore, lightweight analysis of the semi-trailer chassis can effectively reduce the cost of manufacturing enterprises.It can not only improve the market competitiveness of production enterprises, but also can help companies achieve higher profits.The finite element model of the semi-trailer telescopic frame is established in this thesis. The stress and strain of the frame is analysised under the five working conditions of bending, torsion, braking, acceleration and cornering. Strength check is also made. I analysis the free modal of the semi-trailer frame without the boundary conditions and loads, and the natural frequencies and mode shapes of the frame is abtained. Based on the previous analysis, the semi-trailer frame’s optimization model is established. According to combinate shape and size Optimization design, the frame’s quality is alleviated under the condition of ensuring the strength. The high strength steel of equivalent alternative design is made for the optimizated frame. The form and layout of the original structure isn’t changed. The plate’s thickness is redesigned and ensure the strength conditionsIn this paper,The original frame structure is meet the design requirements of stiffness and strength,and can avoid the occurrence of large amplitude vibration and resonance. After structural optimization, the plate’s thickness is decreased, but the beam height and width change little.The total mass of the optimizated frame is reduced by7.61%compared to the previous, and its stiffness and strength still meet the requirements. After the high strength steel equivalent alternative design, the plate’s thickness of the frame’s components has a substantial decrease and the lightweight effect is obvious.Strength and stiffness of the frame is still meet the design requirements.
