As a building envelope, the curtain wall is an independence system which ishung in the main structure of the building and does not bear the load of the buildingconstruction. The main loads acting on it are mainly caused by natural environment,the weight of itself and human beings. For the design of glass curtain wall in high-risebuilding, wind load is the main lateral load.Firstly, in this paper, the development background of the curtain wall and thedomestic and foreign research situation is introduced; the author expounds the mainresearch contents.Secondly, this paper discussed the structural theory and current designspecifications of the glass curtain wall, as well as the calculation methods of thecurtain wall. It also calculated the hidden frame supported glass curtain wall with acertain high-rise building’s curtain wall as a sample. In the calculation of aluminumalloy column in the high-rise building glass curtain wall, the double cross beam isused for calculation and analyzing. It greatly reduces the column materials and canmeet the specification requirements. This shows that the double cross beam used forcalculation and analyzing of the column is compared with the actual situation in thehigh-rise building which is located in the coastal area and the wind load is relativelylarge.The finite element analysis model of the glass curtain wall has been created, andthe static analysis is carried out. The result of the numerical simulation is roughlyagreed with those of the field measurement. It is found that their relative error isrelatively small. This is shown that the model is suitable and effective, and it hasachieved some certain accuracy. The stress and deflection of glass panel are analyzed.The damage of curtain walls would occur frequently at home and abroad.Although the damage is not being a security threat to the main structure of thebuilding, it will cause some accidents, causing economic losses and casualties. Thesafety of the glass curtain wall has been paid more and more attention, and the methodfor safety performance of glass curtain walls has been explored and researched. In thispaper, the concept of interval numbers is used to solve the uncertainty problem ofsome properties of the object, and it also is applied to evaluate the saftey of glasscurtain walls. A new interval numbers fuzzy comprehensive safety evaluation method of glass curtain walls is established. It gets more authentic, accurate results with anexample.Finally, we have made conclusions about the research work, and put forwardsome suggestions for the next step in the research of this issue.
